Classic Portrait, Fashion or Glamour Portraits
Head-shot using studio lighting (soft-box) for classic portrait, fashion or glamour photographs. This hands on session will show you several ways to use simple one, two and three light-source lighting techniques to get the best from your people photography sessions. Please bring your camera gear and a tripod, if you have a flash setup already you can bring your rig along and I will help you perfect your “off camera” lighting techniques. I am asking some models to come along so you will have an opportunity to work with them during the practical exercises session in this workshop. I will also be doing lots of one-on-one work with less advanced shooters to help them get the most for the workshop.
Photojournalism and Street Photography
Photojournalism and Street Photography techniques that will help you overcome approaching people and situations. If you want to get amazing shots when you are simply walking around, then this workshop will be very helpful. Weather permitting this workshop will include a photo walk session so you can practice some of the lessons you have learned earlier in the day. Please bring your camera with a fast 24, 28, 35 or 50mm lens or a fast zoom lens with similar focal options. Also included in this session will be a quick Lightroom tutorial session so please bring your laptop computer with Adobe’s Lightroom installed if possible.
Food Styling, Lighting and Photography
Food Photography is one of the most challenging subjects and after working with many talented food stylists I discovered something amazing. In this workshop we will be shooting at Siddhartha’s Kitchen on Commercial Drive. There will be an opportunity for you to practice what I show you during the workshop and you will be using food prepared by the chief. Who knows, the best shots could be featured and on this restaurant’s website. The workshop will cover basic lighting and food styling techniques. You will also be served some delicious food from the restaurant. Please bring your camera gear and a tripod and we will provide the studio lights and food for you to shoot.
